Bleaky World

Can we imagine when the sky's color is only grey? When trees don't look greenish? When we can't hear birds' voices anymore? When the air we breathe in tastes like chemicals? When the entire world and all the living creatures are bleak?

Since the industrial revolution, the earth we live on has gradually been destroyed. Air and water pollution, smog, global warming, acid rain, and deforestation are just a few of the environmental problems we are facing seriously now. According to climate.gov, earth's temperature has risen by 0.14° F (0.08° C) per decade since 1880, and the rate of warming over the past 40 years is more than twice that: 0.32° F (0.18° C) per decade since 1981. Within the rise of temperature around the world, wildfires start more easily and spread more rapidly than usual; drought covers more area, thus affecting agriculture(reducing land for growing food); the tough conditions on earth also affect species, many animals are going extinct due to environmental threats...There are tons of effects that I could list.

Environmental threats are not so far away, according to NOAA’s temperature data, 2020 was the second warmest year on record. Environmental protection is in an anxious status, actions must be taken. Don't let our world be bleaky!
